We will not allow occupation says women resisting in Tishreen 2025-01-16 15:03:57   NEWS CENTER - Women holding a resistance vigil at the Tishreen Dam, where the attacks continued, emphasised that "This dam belongs to Syria, to Syrians. We will not allow it to be occupied."    Turkey and its paramilitary force Syrian National Army (SNA) have been attacking North and East Syrian cities since 27 November. Since 8 December, Turkey and the SNA have been attacking the Tishreen Dam from the air and land. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are in control of the dam despite all attacks.   THE VIGIL IS ON ITS 8TH DAY   Thousands of citizens from Tebqa, Reqa, Cizîrê and Fırat cantons started a vigil on the dam on 8 January with the call of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Turkey bombed the citizens participating in the protest from the air on different dates. While 8 people were killed in the attacks, more than 20 people were injured. For 40 days, the vigil of the peoples supporting the SDF, which has been resisting the attacks, continues on its 8th day despite the attacks.   Tebqa women, who continue their resistance, told Hawar News Agency (ANHA) about their determination and struggle.   'THE DAM IS OURS'   Sali Esaf said, "This dam is ours, we will not leave it. As Kurdish and Arab women, we salute the resistance of SDF fighters. Since the liberation of our region (Tebqa), we have regained all our rights and have been living in peace and security for 7 years."   'WE WILL BE IN RESISTANCE'   Barîn Memo said that the will, persistence and struggle of the people to protect the Tishreen Dam will end the Turkish state and its paramilitary forces.    Pointing out that the Tishreen Dam is an important source of water and energy for the region, Najla El İsa said, "That is why we are here to protect the dam against the attacks of the Turkish state. We will always be in resistance".   Leyla al-Ebi stated that all the peoples of North and East Syria participated in the vigil at the Tishreen Dam against the attacks.    Majida al-Hussein underlined that the Tishreen Dam belongs to Syria and Syrians and said, "This dam was built by the hands of Syrians. Our resistance will continue and we will not allow the invaders to occupy and destroy this dam."
