CENTCOM commander meets with SDF commanders 2025-01-17 12:15:58 NEWS CENTER - US Central Commander Michael Kurilla met with SDF commanders.  In a statement released by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) yesterday, it was stated that their commander Michael Erik Kurilla arrived in North and East Syria, where he met with the commanders of the US troops and the commanders of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).   According to the statement, Kurilla visited "Rojava" with the aim of "the ongoing Defeat-ISIS campaign and efforts to prevent the resurgence of the terrorist group in the region as well as the evolving situation in Syria". The statement also noted that Kurilla also visited Camp Hol.    'ISIS ARMY IN PRISONS'   Regarding the concerns about the Hol Camp, the statement reads: "Al-Hol and al-Roj camps house over 40,000 displaced personnel, many with ties to ISIS. Without international repatriation, rehabilitation, and reintegration efforts, these camps risk creating the next generation of ISIS. Additionally, over 9,000 ISIS detainees from over 50 different countries remain in over a dozen SDF guarded detention facilities in Syria, a literal and figurative 'ISIS Army' in detention."
