Prisoner's mother reacts to 'camera': A dishonourable behaviour 2025-05-06 11:15:21 AMED - Reacting to the installation of cameras in the living quarters of the prison where her daughter is imprisoned, Rabia Ataş said, "They are behaving dishonourably, they are using psychological violence."   The attempt to install cameras in the living spaces of prisoners in Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison remains on the agenda. On 2 May, Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Şirnex (Şırnak) MP Newroz Uysal Aslan, who met with the prisoners, announced that the Ministry of Justice had ordered cameras to be installed in their living spaces.   9 years ill prisoner Şivekar Ataş reacted to the situation in a phone call with her mother Rabi Ataş on 1 May. Mother Rabia Ataş shared that her daughter said that the pressure in prison has increased.   Mother Rabia Ataş said, "They put cameras near the bathroom and sink. We are disturbed by this situation. We petitioned the prison that this situation is unacceptable, the prison director told us 'you see each other, let us see it too'".   Rabia Ataş pointed out that her daughter's release was prolonged through solitary confinement "They do this dishonourable behaviour when they keep silent. They inflict psychological violence on prisoners. Can there be anything worse than this?" she reacted.
