Mazloum Abdi to visit Damascus 2025-12-26 10:17:26 NEWS CENTER – It has been reported that Mazloum Abdi, General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), will visit Damascus before the end of the year and that there is consensus on the necessity of integrating the SDF into the Syrian army. Ferhad Shami, spokesperson for the SDF, spoke to Saudi Arabia-based Al Arabiya television, sharing assessments regarding the ongoing talks between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Syrian interim government within the framework of the 10 March Agreement.   Shami stated that SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi will visit Damascus before the end of the year, adding that there is agreement on the need for the SDF to be integrated into the Syrian army and that common ground has been found with Damascus.     Shami also rejected claims circulating in some media outlets alleging that the SDF has been training Druze military forces in the Suwayda province. “Our relationship with the Druze people is both political and societal. They already have military experience and do not need military training from the Syrian Democratic Forces,” he said.   ‘WE HAVE NO RELATIONS WITH ISRAEL’   Shami also denied allegations regarding relations between the SDF and Israel, stating: “We have no relations with Israel. If there were relations with Israel, no one would dare to attack the SDF.”   Meanwhile, SDF General Commander Mazloum Abdi made similar remarks earlier today during his speech at the meeting of the Advisory Delegation in Support of the Negotiation Committee for North and East Syria, held in the city of Tabqa under the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.   Reaffirming their commitment to the 10 March Agreement, Abdi stated that despite occasional violations, direct and indirect dialogue with the interim government has not been cut off and that continuous efforts are being made to achieve progress.
