VAN - The police removed the flags hung by the HDP to mark the congress to be celebrated in Van saying that "the governorship had mistakenly given the permission".
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van Provincial Organization will hold its 3rd Ordinary Provincial Congress on 23 December at the Urartu Hotel.
The HDP had obtained permission from the governorship to hang flags in various parts of the city to mark the congress, which will also be attended by co-chair Mithat Sancar.
Once the flags were put up, however, the police began to take them down saying that "the governorship had given the permission by mistake".
It was noted that for the AKP provincial congress, AKP flags were hung in many parts of the city, including using the municipal personnel and vehicles of Van Metropolitan Municipality.
