URFA - KKP Chair Sinan Çiftyürek, who visited the Şenyaşar family, carrying out a Justice Watch in front of the Urfa Courthouse, said, "Emine's mother's voice reached the whole world. But it did not reach the Urfa Courthouse."

Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in a massacre carried out by the AKP Deputy İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives on 14 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, are continuing the sit in in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The sit in, launched on March 9, is on its 343rd day.

Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar, who came in front of the Urfa Courthouse from Suruç district, carried the watch to the courthouse today. Kurdistan Communist Party (KKP) Chairperson Sinan Çiftyürek, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa MP Nusrettin Maçin and HDP Provincial administrators visited the family who were staging a sit-in, in the courthouse garden. Speaking in front of the courthouse after the visit, Çiftyürek said, "A family has been here staging a sit-in for months now. We salute them. Their resistance is the resistance of our people."

'STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH THIS FAMILY'

Saying that they condemn the massacre against the Şenyaşar family, Çiftyürek said, "We are here in solidarity with the Şenyaşar family. Their sit-in will complete a year in 20 days. We also condemn those who turn a blind eye to what happened to this family. Emine Şenyaşar has been suffering from this injustice for 4 seasons now. Her voice reached the whole world but it did not reach the Urfa Courthouse. We are calling out to the authorities in the courthouse; stand shoulder to shoulder with Şenyaşar family."

CALLED TO THE GOVERNMENT

Saying that they emphatise with the pain of the Şenyaşar family, as it is their own, Çiftyürek said, "This is the pain of all of our people. We call out to everyone; stand with Emine Şenyaşar. We call the judge and governorship to file a law suit as soon as possible. We call out to the government, from Istanbul to Van, from Diyarbakır to Urfa. Stand with the families who demand justice. You said that you see no difference between the Kurdish mothers and yours. You do. This statement of yours is not true."

Çiftyürek ended his speech with a call for support the family's resistance. Then, Ferit Şenyaşar shared his experiences with the delegation. The party members, who joined the sit-in for a while, then left the courthouse.
