GAZİANTEP- HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan called on President Erdogan of AKP, who could not manage the earthquake crisis, to resign and said: “It is now our duty to send this government.”

HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan made a statement after visiting earthquake victims in İslahiye district of Gaziantep, which is an earthquake area.

Buldan began her speech by expressing her condolences to those who lost their lives. Noting that there are people waiting to be rescued under the rubble despite 11 days have passed, she said: “We have been informed that many people lost their lives, many houses were destroyed, but there are still people under the rubble. Although the number is not official, it is expressed as two thousand, but we know that the number of deaths is much higher than this number. We also know that there are still souls under the rubble that have not been taken out. Therefore, it is important to remove the people under the rubble as soon as possible, and then to carry out the debris removal works. Procedures that will harm the body integrity should be avoided. We have people who are injured. I wish them a speedy recovery."

'THE PRESIDENT SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED'

Buldan continued his words as follows: “As the HDP, we visited our people in all of our cities that have suffered earthquake disasters for 11 days, shared their pain and tried to heal their wounds; however, we saw that the AKP-MHP government, which was absent for the first 2-3 days, emerged in the last few days and prevented the aid, especially HDP, non-governmental organizations, professional organizations, volunteers, millions of people. Of course, this photograph went down in the history of Turkey as a decisive painting. It emerged as a photograph of how he ruled the country for 20 years. As in all disasters, we encountered a very different perception of government intervention in fires, earthquakes, floods and all these disaster periods. While helping people, trying to go near people, we were faced with the obstruction of the government. Those who need to resign today point their fingers at those who help. Those who should resign are interfering with those trying to deliver aid. If there was some conscience and some face in this government, all of them, including the President, should have resigned after the first two days; however, the state has neither the face to resign, nor such a conscience.
