ANKARA - In the extraordinary congress of DBP, Saliha Aydeniz and Keskin Bayındır were re-elected as co-chairs.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) held its 5th Extraordinary Congress in the Ankara World Trade Center. In addition to the DBP delegation, the executives of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), the Peace Mothers Council, non-governmental organizations and many people attended the congress. Banners "Kurdish youth are the pioneers of the Middle East Renaissance" and "As you destroy, we women will rebuild" were hung in the hall where the congress was held.

The congress began with the election of the members of the council. A moment of silence was held in memory of those who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy, and then the slogans of "Martyrs ara immortal" were raised. Chairperson of the Council Bedriye Yorgun emphasized the importance of self-criticism about the shortcomings in the elections, drawing attention to the fact that the struggle does not consist of election processes.

ISOLATION IS ON AGENDA

Mentioning the absolute isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Yorgun said: "The international institutions legitimize the absolute isolation and act in this direction. There is a system in Imrali that has not been seen anywhere else in the world. It should be noted that we need to increase the struggle to end the isolation of Mr. Öcalan."

DBP Co-Chairperson Zekiye İlbasan stated that it is imperative to build a third way policy in the upcoming period. Deputy Co-Chair Faruk Tatlı, on the other hand, emphasized that the isolation of Öcalan is reflected on all Middle Eastern peoples and that Öcalan's physical freedom must be ensured.

'WE WILL BRING PEACE TO THESE LANDS'

HDP Ankara Provincial Co-Chair Pakize Sinemillioğlu emphasized that they will never be hopeless. Sinemillioğlu said: "We live in such a country that we are stuck wherever we are. and peace will not come."

AYDENİZ AND KESKİN ARE ELECTED AGAIN

After the speeches of the participants, the Decision Commission was established with the suggestion of some delegates. After the activity report was read, suggestions were received. Some of the delegates suggested that Saliha Aydeniz and Keskin Bayındır, who resigned from the Green Left and Future Party (Green Left Party) yesterday, be re-elected as co-chairs. The proposal was accepted unanimously. Thus, Aydeniz and Keskin were re-elected co-chair people.
