Everyone must take responsibility to end war says Peace Mothers

RIHA - Peace Mothers, who have been leading the vigil on the Kobanê border for 11 days, called on everyone to take responsibility to end the war. 

The vigil started in Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa), which is on the border of Kobanê, against the attacks on North and East Syria continued on its 11th day. The vigil started under the leadership of the Free Women's Movement /Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) was continued today by members of the Peace Mothers Assembly of Riha and Amed (Diyarbakır). Many people participated in the vigil. 
 
During the vigil, which continued with halays accompanied by kilams (Kurdish traditional songs) throughout the day, a press statement was made with a banner reading "Rojava rûmeta meyê/Rojava is our honour" and "Nazim û Cîhan rûmeta me ne (Nazım and Cihan are our honour)".
 
Speaking at the statement, Riha Peace Mothers Assembly Spokeperson Meyaser Korkmaz said: "We have always wanted peace. Since Mother Berfo, we have expressed our demand for peace and we will continue to do so. We call on all mothers, let's build peace together."
 
'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH'
 
Nafiye Yiğit, a member of the Amed Peace Mothers' Assembly, said: "As peace mothers, we want peace to come. We do not want anyone's blood to be spilt. Everyone should put their hands under the stone. Enough is enough, how long will this continue. We will continue to say peace peace peace. I wish success to everyone who struggles for peace." 
 
Adalet Çay, a member of the Riha Peace Mothers Assembly, said: "We have been on watch at the border for 11 days. 10 years ago, young people flowed to the border due to the war. The same thing is happening again. We say enough is enough, let this blood stop. As peace mothers, we will express our demand for peace everywhere. All mothers living in Turkey need to take responsibility. Let peace be established, let our young people not be slaughtered."
 
The statement ended with applause and slogans "Bijî berxedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)", "Bijî aşitî (Long live peace)".
