ANKARA- The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party The Central Executive Committee (MYK) convened under the chairship of Co-Chair Tulay Hatimogullari and Tuncer Bakirhan to assess current developments.
The meeting, held at the party’s headquarters, will discuss developments within the on-going Peace and Democratic Society Process, the work of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in Parliament, and details of the latest meeting with Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.
It was learned that party will also discuss the possible consequences of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling on the violations concerning former Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chairs Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag. The meeting will also focus on the messages from Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish Nationalist Movemen Party (MHP) Chair Devlet Bahceli regarding the need for Demirtas’ release.
It is also expected that they will discuss the commission’s potential visit to Imrali.
