ŞIRNEX - Evaluating the “solution” discussions that started after the meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, prisoners' relatives said, “They must sit at the table and talk about the solution.”

The 7-point declaration issued after the meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is being held under heavy isolation conditions in İmralı Type F High Security Closed Prison, continues to be discussed in the public opinion. Abdullah Öcalan, who gave the message that he was ready for a solution, called on all segments to take responsibility.

'WE SAY PEACE FOR EVERYONE'

Hatice Beytur, mother of Osman Baytur, who is imprisoned in Antep Nizip Type T Closed Prison, said, “We say enough with arrests and killings. Everyone needs to agree on peace. Mr. Abdullah Öcalan needs to take part in the Parliament and establish peace and equality. We don't want anyone to be massacred, not just Kurds. All we want is peace and an equal life. There has been a massacre in Rojava for over a month. What do they want from Rojava?  They should sit at the table and talk about peace. Peace must come and all political prisoners in prisons must be freed. We don't want coffins coming out of prisons anymore. We call for peace not only for ourselves but for everyone.”

DEMAND FOR EQUAL FREE LIFE

Sıdıka Erden, the mother of Fikret Erden, who is being held in Kırıkkale Type F High Security Prison, stated that the Kurdish people have not given up calling for a solution despite the oppression and persecution of the government and said, “We want an equal and free life. Mr. Abdullah Öcalan must also regain his physical freedom. We also want the freedom of our imprisoned children. Ill prisoners brought to the hospital are still being examined in handcuffs. This has nothing to do with justice. Again, the attacks against Rojava continue. Rojava is a different country, what is Turkey doing there? That land is the land of those who live there. This problem cannot be solved with death. So they cannot finish the Kurds. The world needs to see this and find a solution to this problem. My son has been in prison for 5 years and has been sentenced to 107 years in prison. As mothers of prisoners, we say peace.”

'WE WANT PEACE'

Şirin Demir, mother of Celalettin Demir, who is imprisoned in Elazığ Type T Closed Prison, stated that they will fight for peace and said, “We are happy about the talks with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. I hope these talks will lead to a world where peace and tranquility prevail. My son is on trial with 2 life sentences and 54 years in prison. I am a peace mother and on behalf of peace mothers I call out to the whole world; stand up and demand peace. We want political prisoners in Rojava to be freed. We want peace, not oppression and death.”

Sibel Yaşar, the sister of Sinan Yaşar, who is imprisoned in Aksaray Type T Prison, stated that the talks with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan have created hope in them and said, “We want political prisoners to be released as soon as possible. We are hopeful. We also want all political prisoners to be free as soon as possible. On the one hand, the negotiations are taking place and on the other hand, the continuation of the trustee policies makes us uneasy.”

'THE WAR MUST STOP'

Güngin Gün, the brother of Salih Gün, who is imprisoned in Ankara Sincan High Security Prison No. 2, noted that Kurdish people have been struggling against oppression and persecution for years and said, “I have no expectations from the state. Having expectations from the state is deceive oneself. But no one can deceive the Kurds anymore. Of course we are happy about the negotiations, but we should not expect anything from the state as a whole. We have never accepted and will never accept oppression, persecution and insult. We want political prisoners to be released. My brother is serving an aggravated life sentence and has been imprisoned for 33 years. We want peace and tranquility. This war must stop now."
