ŞIRNEX - Reminding that the PKK responded to Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's call be declaring a ceasefire, the Peace Mothers said, "A ceasifire cannot be one-sided, both sides must declare a ceasefire."

Stating that they are behind Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's "Call for Peace and Democratic Society", Peace Mothers reminded that the PKK declared a ceasefire after the call and stated that a bilateral ceasefire is necessary for an end to the war and a lasting solution.

Noting that they support Abdullah Öcalan's call, Peace Mother Aynur Elçioğlu reminded that the PKK declared a ceasefire after the call and pointed out the importance of a bilateral ceasefire for the healthy progress of the process. Aynur Elçioğlu said, “I believe that everyone wants peace. We also want peace and we support the statement made by Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. There is a ceasefire, but we do not want this ceasefire to be one-sided. We want a ceasefire on both sides and an end to the war. We don't want any mother to cry or suffer. Everyone should extend their hand for peace and brotherhood. From here I would like to address our people: They should not be pessimistic in any way and trust Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. Peace is not a simple thing and the biggest war is peace. We should extend our hand and form an alliance at this point.”

“No one should take this process wrongly,” said Peace Mother Şirin Demir, warning that attention should be paid to the parties and people who sabotage the process and added, ”We owe him a debt of gratitude. This call is a very sensitive and important move for us Kurds. We should not pay attention to the false and false posts spread on the virtual media. Mr. Abdullah Öcalan is precious and important for us. He never takes a wrong step. We are happy with his call. I hope that the doors of prisons will be opened soon. Those who seek refuge in İmralı in times of hardship and demand peace from him, on the one hand they talk about a solution and on the other hand they appoint trustees. We do not find this approach right. We want peace."

Underlining that peace will not progress unilaterally, Peace Mother Asya Tay said that the state must also take the necessary steps. Asya Tay said, “We bow to the call made by Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. We are behind and support every word he says. We want a world where peace and tranquility prevail. We, as Peace Mothers, want peace. Peace does not work unilaterally or through one person. We all need to extend our hands to peace, peace and beauty. Kurds and Turks need to help each other in this regard.”

Rihan Oğuş from the Peace Mothers said, “We want peace. We don't want bloodshed and we don't want it only for ourselves. No one's blood should be shed, peace is for everyone. We are very happy. We want peace, tranquility and goodness to prevail in 4 parts of Kurdistan. Goodness is good.”

Another Peace Mother Zümretta Çakır said, “We want peace and the war must stop as soon as possible. We support peace. We don't want any mother to shed tears anymore. We want an equal life.”
