NEWS CENTER – DEM Party will organize one thousand 950 meetings as well as “Democracy Festivals” and gathering to explain the new process.
The echoes of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s “Call for Peace and Democratic Society” on 27 February and the PKK’s decision to end the armed struggle and dissolution on 12 May continue. While the process has entered a new phase following the PKK’s decision, eyes are on legal and legislative arrangements.
The Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party is also working in this context. The Central Organisation Commission of the party has been in the field for a long time to explain the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" and to socialise peace. In this context, "People's Meetings for Peace and Democratic Society" were held in more than 140 centres on 9-15 March. Since 10 April, house visits and neighbourhood meetings have been held in all places where the party is organised.
ONE THOUSAND 950 MEETINGS TO BE HELD
DEM Party decided to meet with the people in all provinces, districts and towns during June and summer. In this context, it was decided to organise one thousand 950 meetings.
PUBLIC MEETINGS AND FESTIVALS
Comprehensive public meetings will be organised in Şirnex (Şırnak), Agirî (Ağrı) and İzmir.
"Democracy Festivals" will be organised in Amed (Diyarbakır), Wan (Van) and Mersin. Comprehensive meetings will be organised in Amed, Milazgir (Malazgirt) district of Mûş (Muş) and Mersin with the participation of the families of those who lost their lives during the conflict. DEM Party will organise all these activities with civil society and democratic mass organisations.
