NEWS CENTER - Özgür Özel was re-elected as the Chair of the Republican's People's Party's (CHP) 22nd Extraordinary Congress.  

 

CHP Chair Özgür Özel was the only candidate at the Congress. Istanbul provincial delegates, Party Assembly (PM) members and Supreme Disciplinary Board (YDK) members did not vote.

 

In line with the article in the party bylaws, a vote of confidence was held for the Chair, the 60-member Party Assembly and the 15-member Supreme Disciplinary Board. At Özel's request, the delegates cast a "vote of no confidence". Then, the election of the chair and party organs was started with the block list method. CHP Chair Özgür Özel was re-elected as the General Chair by receiving all 835 valid votes. Of the 917 votes cast, 835 were valid and 82 votes were invalid.
