Unofficial preliminary results of Iraq election announced

NEWS CENTER - The Iraqi Independent High Election Commission announced the unofficial preliminary results of sunday’s parliamentary elections at a press conference. 
 
The announcement was made by Judge Omar Ahmed Mohammed, Chairman of the Commission Council, along with other commission members. According to the unofficial results, the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, received the most votes nationwide. In Baghdad, former Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi’s Taqaddum Party came second, while former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s State of Law Coalition came third. Sudani also ranked first in Najaf and Karbala.
 
In Mosul, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) received the majority of votes and became the leading party. The KDP also dominated in Erbil (Hewlêr) and Duhok, securing most of the votes there as well.
 
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) came first in Sulaymaniyah (Silêmanî) and second in Erbil. In Kirkuk, the PUK won 4 seats with 178,629 votes, while the KDP won 1 seat with 59,294 votes.
 
In Kirkuk, Taqaddum won 3 seats, the United Iraqi Turkmen Front won 2, the Arab Coalition won 1, and the Azim Coalition also won 1.
 
The Helwest Movement, founded by Ali Heme Salih after splitting from the Goran (Change) Movement, participated in the elections for the first time and won 3 seats in Sulaimani and 2 in Erbil.
 
The Kurdistan Islamic Union (Yekgirtu) won 4 seats, 2 in Sulaymaniyah and 2 in Duhok.
 
The New Generation Movement, which had won 9 seats in the previous election, secured only 3 seats this time, ranking fifth overall.
 
OTHER CITIES 
 
In Basra, the Tasmim Coalition led by Governor Asaad al-Eidani received the most votes and became the leading party, followed by the Sadikun List in second place, Sudani’s coalition in third, and Maliki’s coalition in fourth.
 
In Anbar and Salahaddin, Mohammed al-Halbusi’s Taqaddum Party came first.
 
In Diyala, the Badr Organization, led by Shiite militia leader Hadi al-Amiri, ranked first, Halbusi’s party came second, and Hamis al-Khanjar’s Sovereignty Alliance placed third.

Christian Quota: Imad Yuhanna – 17,602 votes
 
Christian Quota: Heba Jirjis – 13,581 votes
 
Shabak Quota: Waad Qado – 10,499 votes
 
Sabian Mandaean Quota: Bassam Zuheiri – 5,395 votes
