URFA- 14 out of 95 detainees were arrested in Urfa within 10 days. 47 citizens are still under custody. HDP Urfa Parliamentarian Ömer Öcalan reacted to the oppression by saying " Police are terrorizing the city. 25 year old police, provided with unlimited authority, violate every right freely without consequences."

 

95 people were taken under custody in 10 days from People's Democratic Party (HDP), Democratic Districts Party (DBP), TJA and Peace Mothers in Urfa. 14 people were arrested with the accusation of being a member of an illegal organization. 47 people are still under custody. HDP Urfa Parliamentarian Ömer Öcalan underlined that the operations are conducted with the sole purpose of obstructing the election campaigns. Öcalan also expressed that the only party that is able to resist AKP's oppressive policy is HDP therefore, the government is trying their best to make HDP fall with the arrests and other oppressive tactics.

 

Öcalan saying that he have conversed with the authorities about the HDP building raids, added: "Governership pretended that they did not know about these attitudes of the police. The police in Urfa have been terrorizing the city.  25 year old police, provided with unlimited authority, violate every right freely without consequences. Öcalan underlining that the country have turned to a police state, said: " We will not give in to this oppression. Whatever they do, we will resist. And we will win."
