The rotating hunger strike action carried out by political prisoners in prisons demanding "freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and a solution to the Kurdish issue" has reached its 19th day.
Families of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and other prisoners held in İmralı applied to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and İmralı Prison Directorate to meet with their relatives.
Prisoner Baran Eman on hunger strike said: "The only person who can stop war, genocide, assimilation and denial is Mr. Abdullah Öcalan."
Rights and legal organizations in Izmir drew attention to the hunger strike actions initiated by the prisoners to ensure the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and said that İmralı Prison should be closed for peace.

Kamber Yıldız, the brother of Necla Yıldız, one of the prisoners on hunger strike for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, said: "Isolating a person whom millions call 'leader' will deepen the existing issue. Abdullah Öcalan is not just a person, he is the reality of the Kurdish people."
